G20 LEADERS RECOGNISE THE IMPORTANCE OF CCS

G20 leaders recognised the opportunities offered by carbon capture, utilisation and storage technologies for the energy transition in the official G20 Osaka Leaders' Declaration. This follows the successful inclusion of CCUS within the G20 Ministerial Meeting on Energy Transitions and Global Environment for Sustainable Growth Communique.

SPOTLIGHT ON CCS AT EU SUSTAINABLE ENERGY WEEK

Over 100 delegates gathered during the EU Sustainable Energy Policy Conference, one of the most important European events dedicated to sustainable energy policy issues, for a session on the role of CCS and CCU and how these set of technologies can help deliver climate neutrality in Europe. The session was jointly organised by the Global CCS Institute, ZEP, and CO2 Value. 
     

HYDROGEN MAY BE THE NEXT CLEAN ENERGY GAME CHANGER

According to the United Nations Environment Program, we are now on track to a 3+ degree world. All decarbonisation options must be on the table, including hydrogen, a zero emissions and versatile fuel, largely seen as the energy vector of the future. In a piece featured in Bloomberg Environment, the Institute’s Senior Adviser for Advocacy Lee Beck writes about the new hydrogen economy.
