Climate Week NYC 2020 to highlight CCS, net zero targets

Climate Week NYC 2020 is set to convene in a few weeks time, bringing together climate leaders and organisations from across the world. In partnership with Columbia University's Centre on Global Energy Policy, the Global CCS Institute will be releasing a report as part of it's participation in Climate Week titled 'Net-Zero and Geospheric Return: Thinking about 2030'The report, which focuses on carbon management and meeting net-zero targets, will be discussed by climate policy experts at the pivotal event.



Institute launches two new corporate websites

The Institute has officially launched its Chinese and Japanese corporate websites. 

The new websites will enable our valued Members and stakeholders in Japan and China to access dedicated information on CCS. From insights, research reports, news items and more, the websites will have a wide range of CCS related resources and provide details on upcoming CCS events.


CCS and climate finance takes centre stage at Innovate4Climate online series   

As part of Innovate4Climate's Climate Innovation Webinar Series, the Global CCS Institute will be taking part in panel discussions to unpack climate finance as it relates to the development and deployment of climate mitigation technologies. Discussions will explore the supportive policies that can lead to the accelerated deployment of carbon, capture and storage. Business models that reduce the risk CCS investment will also be assessed. 



Institute kicks-off nominations for board selection panel

The Institute has called for nominations to fill two vacancies on it's Board Selection Panel (‘BSP’). 

The role of the BSP is to nominate candidates for appointment as Directors to serve on the governing Board of the Global CCS Institute. The BSP meets at the request of the Board when a Director vacancy has been determined. The closing date for nominations is 20 September 2020 (11.59pm Australian Eastern Standard Time), with results being announced on the Members’ Portal on 27 November 2020.
